Welcome to
Bryden Neuropsychology

Kelly Bryden is a Brisbane based clinical neuropsychologist who provides assessment, information and support to people living with neurological conditions, as well as their family and friends.

A neuropsychologist is specially trained in thinking and memory processes, and how these are affected by neurological conditions (conditions, diseases or damage to the brain).

Kelly has experience with a wide range of neurological conditions, across all ages. She uses a wide range of assessment tools to help make sure she can answer the questions that you have about your thinking and memory.

How can we help you?

Worried about my memory

A neuropsychological assessment can help to identify what is causing thinking and memory difficulties in everyday life.

Strategies to help with thinking and memory problems

A neuropsychologist can help identify where the problems lie and provide strategies and support to compensate for those difficultes.

Return to work or study after a stroke or brain injury

A neuropsychological assessment can help predict any difficulties you may have with work or study, and provide guidance about how to overcome them.

Planning for the future

Life can be uncertain when facing a neurological diagnosis or recovering from a brain injury. Psychoeducation and support can help to predict and plan for the future.

Support for people with severe difficulties

Sometimes thinking and memory difficulties are so severe that a person cannot get their needs met without acting in a way that is distressing to themselves and/or others. Neuropsychologists can help to identify what may be contributing to distress and how to make the person more comfortable.

Support for family and friends

It is important for family and friends to get their own emotional support so that they can be there to face the challenges alongside a person with thinking and memory difficulties

Why is this happening to me?

Most people do not understand the range of symptoms that can be associated with brain changes. A neuropsychologist can help you work out what is normal and where to get help.

Adjusting to changes

Having a neurological diagnosis or recovering after a brain injury can have an emotional toll. Neuropsychologists can help with the emotional side of brain changes.

Worried about work or school performance

A neuropsychological assessment can help identify how thinking and memory changes may be affecting work or school.

Making major life decisions when you have thinking and memory difficulties

Decision making capacity is a persons ability to make life decisions for themselves. Sometimes a person's ability to make complicated decisions is called into question if they have more severe thinking and memory difficulties. A decision making capacity assessment can help to determine if thinking and memory difficulties are affecting a person's ability to make decisions.
