WorkCover and Other Funded Assessments

WorkCover
Neuropsychological assessments can be funded by WorkCover when there is a neurological injury related to a workplace injury. This is most commonly a concussion or brain injury.
The assessment can be conducted to provide information about the severity of your injury, and to provide recommendations for rehabilitation or return to work.
WorkCover QLD requires:
- A doctor’s referral (can be your GP)
- The initial consultation does not require pre-approval
- The assessment needs pre-approval for funding (we will provide you with the information you need)
NIISQ and iCARE
Neuropsychological assessments can be funded by these insurance schemes.
The assessment can be conducted to provide information about the severity of your injury, and to provide recommendations for rehabilitation.
Please speak to your case manager about what they need. They are likely to need a doctor’ referral and pre-approval for funding.
DVA
The Department of Veteran’s Affairs may provide funding for any neuropsychological assessment for Gold Card holders.
They may provide funding for neuropsychological assessments for service related injuries.
DVA usually requires a detailed letter from you doctor and we need to make an application for funding prior to the assessment starting.
